Kuwait Oil Company

Profile: In 1934 the Kuwait Oil Company Ltd. was established. The Company activities had extended to include exploration operations, on-shore and off-shore surveys, drilling of test wells, and developing of producing fields in addition to crude and natural gas exploration.In 1975 the Kuwait Government took over 100% of the Kuwait Oil Company.
In 1980 Kuwait Petroleum Corporation was established to bring all state owned oil companies under one entity.
In 2006, gas was discovered in the deep Jurassic reservoirs at Rahiya, Mutriba, Um Niga and other fields. These discoveries fulfill a long Kuwaiti dream of becoming self-sufficient in gas which will be used for power generation.

Profile: KGL Ports International (KGL PI), an affiliate of KGL Holding, was established in 2004, inheriting over 40 years of experience from Kuwait and Gulf Link Transport Company (KGL). Today, KGL PI is considered as the terminal manager and operator-arm of the group. The company is headquartered in Kuwait, and has running operations within the UAE and Egypt. KGL PI’s core business covers the development, operations, and management of container terminals and Roll-On-Roll-Off (RORO) operations. Within the region, KGL PI manages and operates the terminal at Shuaiba Port. The company has also designed, constructed, operated and managed the container terminal at Saqer Port in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, providing its clients within this region with a further option for a port destination. In Egypt, KGL PI, through its partnership with shipping lines and the Damietta Port Authority (DPA), is in the final stages of constructing a major container terminal within Damietta, Egypt.

Profile: Established in 1945, the Kuwait Ministry of Public Works (MPW) is the Government body concerned with planning, developing, commissioning and supervising infrastructure developments across the State of Kuwait. In pursuit to achieve the Government’s economic diversification strategy and keeping pace with the nation’s fast-growing population, MPW has made it a priority to upgrade and modernize Kuwait’s infrastructure and other public facilities and services. The Ministry is in charge of major infrastructure developments across various sectors including port development, airport projects, roads and highways, healthcare and others. MPW has handled most of the State’s projects for the construction of buildings and development of infrastructure in Kuwait.
